Beutiful blooms the
color of Concord Grapes with bright yellow stamens that really stand out against the
purple blooms. Flowes fist start to open up in late May and the plants continue to
bloom through out July. Plants are compact and a gorgeous shade of blue-green.
Concord has the best folige of all the spiderwortrs we grow - the plants look good all
season long.
Spiderworts will grow in full sun or shade. If planted in full sun make
sure the soil stays consistently moist and mulch plants to keep the roots cool.
Plants bloom better if given some afternoon shade. Soil needs to be very rich in organic
matter and should be heavily amended with composted manure and peat moss. Feed in
early spring with a top dressing of compost and bone meal. Liquid feed once or twice
in the summer with fish emulsion.
