A very distinctively different form of Stachys, with no noticeable
resemblance's to its cousin, Lamb's Ear. Hummelo forms large clumps of dark green, heavily
textured leaves. Plants send up showy spikes of densely packed lavender-rose
flowers. Hummelo has been on the market for quiet some time now but it is new to us
- this is the first year we have grown it and are looking forward to seeing how well it
performs.
Plants grow easily in full sun in a rich well drained soil. Fertilize in
early spring with a top dressing of compost and bone meal. Remove faded flower stems
to promote longer bloom periods.
