We hear over and over from other gardeners how
disappointed they are with the results of their roses. Growing roses successfully can be a
challenge as many of the modern roses demand extra attention and it seems that every bug
and disease known adore roses as much as the gardener. Landscape Roses on the other
hand are almost fool proof. The Meidiland Series (pronounced may-de' land) that we
grow here at Gorge Top Gardens is an excellent variety of Landscape Rose. These wonderful
plants have taken the famous rose breeders Meilland of France years to develop.
Their efforts have rewarded gardeners with a rose that is nearly perfect! Meidiland
Landscape roses are vigorous, disease resistant, fast growing and will tolerate growing
conditions other roses would never survive. They need little to no attention from
the gardener other than occasional feeding and light pruning. The Meidiland series
are very heavy bloomers - they begin blooming in early summer and continue right up until
the first hard freeze. Landscapers are very fond of the Meidiland Rose and often
plant them in masses for wonderful displays of color.
