Charming small
4" white blooms cover this low growing Landscape Rose. The
blooms are mildly fragrant and in abundace in ealry summer and then
again in early fall, just as the nights begin to get cooler. White
Meidiland makes a superb flowering groundcover and is extremely
easy to grow. The Meidiland Rose Series was bred in France and is
a patented rose.
Height: 30 - 48 inches
Habit: mounding (also makes a good ground cover)
Fragrance: mild
Disease Resistance: Very good
Zones: 4 -10 (coldest areas of 4 may require protection)
Culture Notes: Plant in area that receives full sun, a
minimum of 5 hours of direct sun is recommended. Landscape Roses are not as fussy
about soils as many other types of roses, but will do their best in a soil that has been
amended with plenty of organic materials. (see
improving your soil for more info) While these roses are considered very heat tolerant
they do require a moderate level of moisture to really flower heavily. Water during
extended dry spells and frequently during the first 3 -4 weeks after planting. To
help conserve soil moisture it is always a good idea to apply a layer of organic mulch
such as pine bark around the base of the plant to a depth of 3 - 4 inches. Light
pruning may be required to maintain a tidier plant and deadheading faded blooms will
encourage heavier flowering. Feed at least twice during the growing season
with a combination of blood and bone meals.
