This gorgeous Landscape Rose is the only one we
offer not bred by the Meilland Family. Carefree Sunshine was introduced by William Radler, the famous breeder
of the award winning Knock Out series of roses. The clear yellow blooms appear in huge
numbers from late spring through fall. Blooms hold their color exceptionally well
even in the hottest of summers. Considered to the most disease resistant of all
yellow roses on the market, Carefree Sunshine as with all Landscape Roses is
virtually maintenance free.
Height: 36 - 48 inches
Habit: Bushy shrub
Fragrance: not considered to be fragrant
Disease Resistance: Very good
Zones: 5 -10
Culture Notes: Plant in area that receives full sun, a
minimum of 5 hours of direct sun is recommended. Landscape Roses are not as fussy
about soils as many other types of roses, but will do their best in a soil that has been
amended with plenty of organic materials. (see
improving your soil for more info) While these roses are considered very heat tolerant
they do require a moderate level of moisture to really flower heavily. Water during
extended dry spells and frequently during the first 3 -4 weeks after planting. To
help conserve soil moisture it is always a good idea to apply a layer of organic mulch
such as pine bark around the base of the plant to a depth of 3 - 4 inches. Light
pruning may be required to maintain a tidier plant and deadheading faded blooms will
encourage heavier flowering. Feed at least twice during the growing season
with a combination of blood and bone meals.
