A very popular
variety of Lamium that gardeners have used for years as a shade loving ground cover. The
leaves are silver with narrow green margins. The unique colors of the foliage makes
a perfect backdrop for the lavender-pink hood shaped flowers that appear from
mid-spring until early summer. A tried and true variety of Lamium, Beacon Silver is
perhaps the most commonly grown form of this lovely perennial ground cover.
Lamium 'Beacon Silver'
Plants grow best in shady areas in a good garden soil that has been
amended well with organic materials. Soil should remain consistently moist but drain well.
Plants that are allowed to suffer through dry spells or are growing in dry soils
tend to die out in the middle. Mulching will help the soil conserve moisture.
