This stunning new fern was
discovered by New England Wildflower Society member John Lynch. Considered to be one
of the most exciting perennial introductions in years, Lady in Red has brilliant red stems
that really stand out in the shade garden. Fronds are dark green and finely cut and
grow to clump size of 36 inches in height and 20 inches wide. As with all
ferns this one is easy to grow as long as it is provided with a good rich humusy soil and
adequate moisture. Lady in Red is deciduous, dying back at the end of the season and
returning each spring. A very hardy fern that will survive as far north as zone 3.
We have a very limited supply of Lady in Red so order early to avoid disappointment.
Note: The
bright red coloration of the stems can take up to two years to fully develop -- your
patience will be rewarded with a very unique perennial fern.
