This outstanding new Echinacea provides a
showcase of color in the perennial garden. Wonderfully fragrant large pink flowers
resemble the blooms on a sunflower with multiple rows of shaggy petals. Fancy Frills
is a descendant of Echinacea 'Ruby Giant', and was introduced to the market by the
outstanding breeders at Terra Nova Nurseries. This new perennial is very long
blooming with flowers measuring from 3 to 5 inches on very sturdy stems that do not
require staking, great for cutting. Blooms are fully to semi-double with a sweet
fragrance, by far the most fragrant Echinacea we have ever grown. Fancy Frills lures
in butterflies like a magnet and looks great planted with shades of purple and bright
yellows.
Plants need full sun to really show off and are not finicky about soils as
long as it is not soggy. Seed heads attract foraging birds so leave a few when
cleaning out the garden.
