An absolutely adorable Echinacea that has a
very, very unique look. The two-tiered rose pink flower head has a set of short petals
that grow out of the top of the cone. Single flowers are produced occasionally but
the ratio of "double deckers" is extremely high. Blooms are remarkably fragrant
and measure 3 inches across. Blooming occurs on stiff, erect stems that are perfect for
cutting. This unique plant comes to us from a German Gardener by the name of Eugen
Schleipfer who just happen to have one of these unique flowers come up in his garden. He
spent the next 20 years breeding and grooming Doubledecker. Thanks to his hard work
we are now able to offer this great new Echinacea to fellow gardeners.
Plants need full sun to really show off and are not finicky about soils as
long as it is not soggy. We have noticed that plants will sometimes only bear single
flowers in their fist year of being transplanted.
