About floribunda roses:
The history behind the Floribunda Rose remains a bit fuzzy but
most experts will agree that they are the result of a cross between
large flowering hybrid tea roses and the generous flowering polyanthas
done sometime in the early 1900's. As the name Floribunda suggest
these rose offer flowers in abundance. Flowers are born in large
clusters and appear in profuse waves from mid to late spring all
the way through fall. The plants come in just about any color you
can think of with the exception of true blue. Plants vary widely
in growth habit, some are small and compact while others are tall
and wide. Floribundas are very easy to grow and offer great disease
resistance. Plants are so easy to grow they rarely need care from
the gardener other than a little water during dry spells and light
feeding. To improve flowering through the summer we do suggest that
you remove the spent flowers this will keep the plants energy focused
on blooming instead of producing seed hips. Floribunda roses are
more cold hardy than most hybrid teas but if you live in an area
where temperatures fall below 10 degrees you will need to provide
a good protective layer of mulch during the winter months.
