Our featured Clematis for the White
and Cream flowering varieties is in our opinion one of the best
flowering vines on the market - Guernsey Cream. Widely recognized
by avid Clematis growers as one of the most reliable varieties.
As the buds first open the flowers appear light yellow with a green
central bars then fade to creamy white as they mature. The petals
are rounded and overlap each other - anthers are light yellow. Prolific
bloomer with huge masses of flowers appearing in May through June
- with a second flush of heavy flowering in August into September. The
creamy white colors will last longer if sheltered from hot evening
sun so try to select a spot where plants can get some afternoon
shade.
