This relatively new Clematis was raised in
Poland by Brother Stefan Franczak and
introduced to the public in 1986. An absolutely stunning color of deep red violet
flowers with contrasting rich golden yellow anthers. The overlapping ruffled petals
have a velvety texture and tend to curl at their edge. Warsaw Nike is more tolerant
of shaded areas and poorer soils making it one of our recommended varieties for gardeners new to raising clematis vines. Cleamtis 'Warsaw
Nike' received the 1990 Word of Recommendation by the judging committee of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society.
