Very impressive variety of Bergenia. Eroica is more cold tolerant than other
forms and can be grown in zones 4 and 5 with great success. The bright purple blooms
last up to two weeks longer than other varieties we have grown. Flowers hover above heart
shaped leaves that are marbled with blotches of burgundy. Very dramatic effect when
planted as a ground cover in shaded areas. Bergenia thrives in moist soil that is high in
organic matter so make sure to amend properly and water during dry spells.
