Just as the colors of summer
start to fade, Aster 'Alert' ignites with densely packed clusters of deep purplish-red
flowers. Outstanding form of red Aster that we fell in love with a couple of years ago.
The plant starts showing color in mid August and keeps on producing brightly colored
blossoms right through October. The growth habit is compact , growing to only 12-14
inches tall. While all Asters make good cut flowers this one is especially nice for
brightening up autumn bouquets. Asters prefer full sun and a rich well drained soil.
To combat powdery mildew do not let the plants dry out during summers heat.
If mother nature goes through a dry spell - provide a little extra water for your asters.
