Hosta 'Patriot'

Hosta 'Patriot' A wonderful sport of Francee - Patriot was named Hosta of the Year in 1997. It has the same beautiful dark green centers as its parent but with a much wider crisp white margin. Patriot is very showy and can really make an impact in the garden. Hosta growers quickly fell in love with this stunning Hosta and the demand for Patriot continues to increase each season. Plants are considered to be sun tolerant but hold their stunning leaf color much better if provide with some afternoon shade. A very nice selection for containers.

Hostas prefer partial to full shade and a good rich garden soil that is moist but well drained. Moisture plays a crucial role in growing beautiful Hosta plants - you will need to water plants during prolonged dry spells. Feed in very early spring with a top dressing of composted manure and bone meal. Liquid feed at least twice during the growing season with seaweed extract or fish emulsion.
