Hosta 'Guacamole'

Hosta 'Guacamole' A reverse variegated sport of 'Fragrant Bouquet' with huge apple green leaves and dark green streaked edges - the colors are similar to that of a sliced open avocado - hence the name. Flowers appear in mid summer on 36 inch scapes and are very fragrant. Guacamole was voted Hosta of the Year in 2002. The popularity of the Hosta has exploded in past two years and we never have enough plants to satisfy demand... order early as it appears Guacamole will be the first Hosta we sell out.

Hostas prefer partial to full shade and a good rich garden soil that is moist but well drained. Moisture plays a crucial role in growing beautiful Hosta plants - you will need to water plants during prolonged dry spells. Feed in very early spring with a top dressing of composted manure and bone meal. Liquid feed at least twice during the growing season with seaweed extract or fish emulsion.
