Hostas prefer partial to full shade and a good rich garden soil that is moist but well drained. Moisture plays a crucial role in growing beautiful Hosta plants - you will need to water plants during prolonged dry spells. Feed in very early spring with a top dressing of composted manure and bone meal. Liquid feed at least twice during the growing season with seaweed extract or fish emulsion. An outstanding Hosta that is becoming more
and more popular each year. Hosta growers fell in love with the large leaves and wonderful
contrasting colors immediately upon seeing Great Expectations. The leaves are very
thick and puckered with buttery yellow centers and very wide, irregular blue-green
margins. We can not seem to keep this plant and have even been guilty of digging
some or our own up in order to fill orders.
